About

In 2010 I decided to try to sew more everyday clothing and as part of that project I started this blog with the thought that it would help motivate me with my goals, but it didn’t really work that way. And then I pretty much stopped sewing.

The notion of “slow sewing” (in the tradition of slow food) had occurred to me years ago (or maybe I read it somewhere, I don’t recall), and in the meantime it seems to have become a definite thing. Which is good for me because it’s definitely my thing too.

These days, I’m embracing the fact that most of the work I do with textiles is mending, and I expect that to be the focus of this blog going forward. There may also be some new sewing projects (mostly not-clothes) as well as other creative endeavours such as lotions and balms.
